Volvo Penta IPS

The unique Volvo Penta IPS system improves power, performance as well as onboard comfort for operators in both commercial and leisure applications. The system increases control, maneuverability and fuel efficiency and allows for a wide number of beneficial optional features and functions. The key to these exceptional qualities lies in the forward-facing, twin counter-rotating propellers with individually steerable IPSs under the hull.

D8-IPS

Volvo Penta D8-IPS is a perfectly matched package, powered by the in-line 6-cylinder D8, a 7.7-liter, common-rail diesel with a twin-entry turbo, and supercharger for incredible, low rpm response. The D8-IPS is available in 600, 650, & 700 versions for Commercial applications and 700 & 800 versions for leisure. Working together with a perfectly matched IPS15 pod, twin counter-rotating propellers and the Electronic Vessel Control system, this package offers excellent maneuverability, long action range and low emissions.

D6-IPS

D6-IPS

Volvo Penta D6-IPS is a perfectly matched package, powered by the in-line 6-cylinder D6, a 5.5-liter, common-rail diesel with a turbo, working together with a perfectly matched pod. The D6-IPS is available in 400, 450, 500, 600, & 650 power variations. This high-efficient propulsion system offers excellent maneuverability, onboard comfort, fuel efficiency, and low emissions.

D13-IPS IMO III

D13-IPS IMO III

Volvo Penta IPS IMO III is a perfectly matched package, powered by the in-line 6-cylinder D13, a 12.8-liter, common-rail diesel and a twin-entry turbo. Working together with a perfectly matched IPS3 pod, twin counter-rotating propellers and the Electronic Vessel Control system, this package offers excellent maneuverability, long action range and low emissions. It´s designed to cope with high back pressure and high-sulfur fuel – up to 1,000 ppm. The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) exhaust aftertreatment system is tailored for a perfect fit. The SCR unit, also a silencer, reduces noise by 35-40 dBA. Volvo Penta has been able to fulfil IMO III exhaust emission targets while maintaining the same low fuel consumption. And thanks to SCR, the engine power output remains unaffected.

Volvo Penta D13-IPS was designed to deliver powerful performance, excellent maneuverability, unparalleled comfort on board, and longer range with less fuel consumption and emissions. The perfectly matched engine, transmission and drive - characterized by twin counter-rotating propellers - create an unmatched experience on the water. The robust engine was built to last with a rigid cast iron cylinder block and cylinder head, offering reliability and long-term durability. The entire package is integrated from helm to prop through the Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) with the option for experience-enhancing add-on features such as Glass Cockpit, cruise control and more.

Volvo Penta D11-IPS is a perfectly matched package, powered by the in-line 6-cylinder D11, a 10.8-liter, common-rail diesel with a twin-entry turbo, and supercharger for incredible, low rpm response. Working together with a perfectly matched IPS2 pod, twin counter-rotating propellers and the Electronic Vessel Control system, this package offers excellent maneuverability, long action range and low emissions.
