Volvo Penta D13-IPS was designed to deliver powerful performance, excellent maneuverability, unparalleled comfort on board, and longer range with less fuel consumption and emissions. The perfectly matched engine, transmission and drive - characterized by twin counter-rotating propellers - create an unmatched experience on the water. The robust engine was built to last with a rigid cast iron cylinder block and cylinder head, offering reliability and long-term durability. The entire package is integrated from helm to prop through the Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) with the option for experience-enhancing add-on features such as Glass Cockpit, cruise control and more.

To deliver 1000hp on demand, the D13 engine and IPS30 pod are designed and built to withstand immense forces. Upgraded pistons, camshafts, injectors and cooling systems all play their part to ensure a compact, robust and highly efficient package that is easy to install and maintain.

The Perfect Match for Yachts

As the most powerful package in the IPS range, the D13-IPS1350 is ideal for yachts 60-120ft. The D13-IPS1350SD version is specially designed to power larger, semi-displacement yachts. The torque curve has been expertly modified to cope with higher thrust loads at slower speeds. The D13-IPS1350SD also has a wider speed range down to 19 knots.

Despite it’s high output and swept volume, the engine and pod is extremely compact allowing yacht designers to optimize internal architecture without sacrificing accessibility during maintenance. Available as twin or triple installation, the D13-IPS1350 optimizes power, weight and space.

Distinctive, forward-facing, twin counter-rotating propellers and individually steerable pods contribute to low fuel consumption and emissions data. The engine and pod forms a compact, robust and highly efficient package that increases efficiency by 30% compared to similarly powered rivals.
