Key features and benefits for D7A TA

Robust and silent

A rigid in-line cylinder block with generously dimensioned crankshaft bearings, together with watercooled exhaust manifold and turbo provide a robust engine that makes for silent running and improved onboard comfort.

Unique Marine Torque

Volvo Penta engines excel with their unique marine torque. High torque at low rpm gives rapid acceleration to the plane and massive maneuvering power. At high rpm, full-throttle torque increases if the engine loses rpm and gives efficient cruising speed in all conditions.

High onboard comfort

The minimal vibrations and low sound levels of this sturdy and robust diesel engine help provide high onboard comfort.

Service friendly

Easily accessible maintenance points and single-side servicing contribute to the ease of servicing the engine. Even major maintenance is possible to carry out onboard.

Long service life

A propulsion system from Volvo Penta is easy to maintain. Our comprehensive range of high-quality oil, lubrication and coolant ensures uptime and top performance in the long term. Accessories include a fuel pre-filter and a diesel fuel decontaminator, keeping both diesel and engine in good condition.

Marine Commercial Control System

Volvo Penta Marine Commercial Control System is an engine control and monitoring system that is easily integrated into the ship’s control system. All actions are displayed with text messages, in any specified language, and logged in a non-erasable memory.
